Creativity Meets Commitment
The autumn project week is a long-standing tradition at Klax School, combining creativity, craftsmanship, community spirit and social engagement.
This year, in the last week before the autumn holidays, our pupils once again devoted themselves to exciting projects. The focus was on two of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): gender equality (SDG 5) and sustainable consumption (SDG 12).
From Monday to Thursday, students from primary to secondary school worked on their projects in mixed-age workshops. Over the course of the week, they created numerous unique items, including homemade soaps, art calendars, sewn accessories and fog catchers.
Alongside the creative workshops, there were also thematic activities. Some groups addressed socially relevant topics such as traditional crafts and how they are changing. Another group examined the current socio-political situation in Afghanistan in depth. A documentation team accompanied the project week from the pupils' perspective, capturing special moments in photographs and film.
On Friday, at the big autumn market, the pupils presented and sold the results of their project week. The proceeds will go to our partner school, Roschani Girls' School in Ghazni, Afghanistan.
Huge thanks to everyone involved for their fantastic efforts!
