"Our Happy Future" Club Showcases Artwork from the Klax Nature and Environment Camp at the Klax Children's Art Gallery
discoveries through art? The new exhibition, Eco Explorer: Discovering Nature, Shaping the Future, at the Klax Children's Art Gallery presents artworks created during an international project week organised by the European school network Our Happy Future.
The network brings together partner schools from across Europe to explore issues related to climate change and the future of our planet. Each academic year focuses on a new theme. During the 2025/26 school year, participating schools worked together on the Eco Explorer project.
A particular highlight was a joint project week held at the Klax Nature and Environment Camp in Klocksin in May 2026. Students from Klax International School, Oulunlahden Koulu in Oulu, Finland, and CEIP Tíncer in Tenerife, Spain, came together to investigate local wildlife, study freshwater habitats, and carry out environmental and climate-related fieldwork.
Inspired by their experiences, the students transformed their observations into a wide range of artistic works. Using watercolours, linocut prints, sun prints, and other creative techniques, they interpreted their discoveries in highly individual ways. The resulting artworks reflect the richness of the natural world, the challenges posed by climate change, and young people's perspectives on the future of our planet.
The exhibition officially opened on 26 June 2026, when nearly 70 artworks were presented to the public for the first time at the Klax Children's Art Gallery. During the opening event, the young artists introduced their work and shared insights into the creative process and the stories behind their pieces.
Eco Explorer: Discovering Nature, Shaping the Future will remain on display at the Klax Children's Art Gallery until 9 October 2026. We warmly invite you to visit the exhibition and discover the creative outcomes of this inspiring European collaboration.
