Experiencing history through sports
On 15 November 2024, four Grade 12 students from the Klax School took part in the Pupil's Wall Race, a unique event that combines sport, team spirit and historical learning.
On a course along the former course of the Berlin Wall, the participants were asked questions about socio-political issues and recent German history at nine checkpoints. The Klax School team impressed with their outstanding knowledge and strong running performance: only two mistakes in the tasks and the first to cross the finish line - a real top performance!
The Wall Race is much more than a sporting competition. It is a moving opportunity to experience the history of Berlin's division and the importance of reunification first-hand. The route takes students past historical sites that take them back in time, not only geographically, but also emotionally.
"The Wall Race shows us how important it is to keep history alive while focusing on current social challenges," says the accompanying teacher.
We congratulate our team on this great success and thank the organisers for this enriching experience.
